Description
The Telecom Rigger is responsible for installing, maintaining, and decommissioning telecommunications equipment on towers, rooftops, and other elevated structures. This includes antennas, coaxial and fiber optic cables, power supplies, and outdoor cabinets. He ensures that all rigging activities are carried out safely and efficiently, in compliance with industry standards and site requirements. This role requires excellent physical fitness, a strong understanding of telecom infrastructures, and strict adherence to safety procedures, especially when working at height.
Responsibilities
• Install and align telecommunications equipment such as antennas, RRU, RRH, feeders, and outdoor cabinets on site structures
• Perform cabling work, including coaxial cables, fiber optic lines, and power supply cables
• Execute rigging operations: lifting, hoisting, and securing equipment at height using certified techniques
• Perform site surveys and pre-installation assessments
• Commission and decommission telecom equipment according to technical specifications
• Conduct basic testing and verification of installed systems (VSWR, continuity, etc.)
• Ensure proper grounding and weatherproofing of equipment
• Maintain a clean and secure work environment on site
• Complete and submit detailed site installation reports and documentation
• Adhere strictly to health and safety standards, especially related to working at height
• Communicate effectively with field engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure timely execution of tasks
• Report defects, potential risks, or incidents promptly to the site supervisor
Candidate Profile
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Telecom Rigger or in similar field-based telecom roles
• Proven experience in installing and aligning antennas, feeders, and fiber on telecom structures
• Driving license required – mobility across sites is essential
• Fluent in French and English
